Nude heels

These are a must have for models. The right pair of nude heels can take a model from photo shoots to runways to fashion events. Nude high heels, especially stilettos, are the best weapon in a model’s kit. You can wear them with pretty much any outfit! Make sure you get stilettos (no chunky heels) and that the platform isn’t too high. My favourite brands: Fabulicious, Billini, and Steve Madden.

Fabulicious

Women's LIP109/ND/M Platform Dress Sandal

Headlight dimmers

Great for under tank tops, tshirts, and backless garments. As a model, I can’t live without a good pair of nipple covers in my modelling bag! I recommend silicone ones in a colour that matches your skin tone. They’re reusable and pretty inexpensive, so I suggest getting a few! Some brands offer covers with a bit more - well, coverage - and I recommend owning a few different types just in case.

Hollywood Fashion Silicone Nipple Covers, Nude

DEPOVOR Strapless Adhesive Bra

Shoe cushions

Whoever invented shoe cushions needs a Nobel Prize. Shoe cushions have absolutely saved my feet during long photo shoots and runway rehearsals. They’re a “must have or regret it later” purchase that you’ll be thankful for when everyone else’s feet are sore and covered in blisters!

Scholl Gel Activ Insoles for Open Shoes

Skincare

Every model needs to do skincare. My favourite skincare brand? Aesop - hands down - even if it’s a bit on the pricey side. You can see more of my raving about Aesop in my top skincare products post. But, if Aesop is a bit out of your price range, here are some other suggestions.

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Simple Kind To Skin Facial Wash Moisturising

Hair Mask

A model’s hair can experience some serious torture. From teasing to hairspray and heat tools, models need to take care of their hair so it stays healthy, shiny and strong. I found this product a few years ago and absolutely swear by it. My hair is soft, hydrated and strong after using this. And best of all, it’s an Australian brand, so I feel great about supporting an Aussie business.

Davroe MCT Moisture Conditioning Treatment

Model Bag

So many things on this list, but where to put them? In a great bag, obviously! Big enough for everything - but not too big - here are some suggestions for model bags from shoulder bags to rolling luggage.

American Tourister 92504-4357 Moonlight Hardside Expandable Luggage

Carhartt Women's East West Tote

Portable phone charger

If you (or your model) are anything like me, the phone battery always runs out when you need it most! A portable phone charger is amazing for when you’re on a photoshoot and have nowhere to charge your phone, or when running between bookings or castings. Just don’t forget to charge the charger!

ROMOSS 18W 30000mAh Power Bank

Ring light

Good lighting is hard to find. We can fix that with a ring light! Here are my favourites for whether you want a ring light for home, or a portable light for behind the scenes at photoshoots (or for selfies!).

Neewer Camera Photo Video Light Kit: 18 Inches/48 Centimeters

SmallRig RGB Video Light

Planner

I swear by a good planner to keep track of bookings, important events, and life admin. I love daily planners the most, with a nice to-do list to tick off everything as you go. A planner in a pretty colour or print makes it even more fun to keep track of everything.

Daily Planner Notebook - Undated Productivity Journal

 Cozy sweater

The first thing I want to do after a 6 hour photoshoot is to wear something comfy. For off-duty model vibes, a cozy sweater is honestly a god send. My favourite place to look for sweaters is Uniqlo, especially their Merino wool sweaters (and I size up for extra comfort!)
