I'm always on the look out for new locations to do photoshoots in Sydney. Being a Sydneysider born and raised, I've spent a lot of time collecting a few favourite spots to do photoshoots (or even Instagram pics) over the last few years. I recommend going to these places when they're not so busy, early morning is usually best.
Note: Do photoshoots in Sydney with caution! Some places don't like photographers taking photos with "professional looking" equipment and may ask you to leave. You may need to double check with building security before taking professional photos.
George Street
George Street, Sydney
If you're looking for a city vibe, George Street in Sydney's CBD is one of the best places to go. George Street is long so there are lots of opportunities for different shots. Make sure you watch out for trams! I've seen a lot of close calls with Sydney's trams, so make sure you and your photoshoot team are safe and aware of your surroundings, and not obstructing any tram traffic!
Town Hall
483 George St, Sydney
While you're in the city, check out the Town Hall building. There are lots of stairways and hidden away places to do a quick photoshoot, it's also very aesthetic and I love the huge stone walls and beautiful iron railings. This shot was taken underneath the main Town Hall building and it's definitely one of my favourites.
Pitt Street Mall
Pitt Street, Sydney
Making it easy for you, here's another nearby spot that I loved shooting in! Pitt Street Mall is always busy, so if you don't mind some people in the background of your shots, then this is the location for you. Or, you can do a low-angle close-up shot instead!
Royal Botanic Garden
Mrs Macquaries Road, Sydney
The last on the list, but definitely not the least, is the Botanic Gardens. If you're looking for a more whimsical location, this is it! I like shooting here in Spring for the gorgeous flowers. Nearby, you can take a look at The Calyx which has one of the largest green walls in the Southern Hemisphere.
